UK leads private market climate disclosures amid regulatory push

Funds Europe reports that the UK is setting the pace on private market climate disclosure, drawing on research from Unwritten, climate risk platform provider covering transition risk, physical risk and nature exposure.

Unwritten analysed 47 Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) reports from general partners based in the UK, EU and US. UK managers stand out for their transparency and are more likely to publish standalone climate reports, while EU and US firms tend to fold disclosures into broader sustainability reporting. Nearly all managers assess climate risk before investing, but US managers lag UK and EU peers on ongoing risk management after investment.

The findings underline the gap Unwritten is built to close: turning climate analysis into financial insight that holds up across the full investment cycle.
